Beauty Tips: By Audrey Hepburn

Beauty Tips: By Audrey Hepburn

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry

For beautiful hair, let a child run his fingers through it once a day

For poise, walk with the knowledge you'll never walk alone

People, even more than things have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed and redeemed. Never throw out anybody.

Remember: if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm. As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself and one for helping others.

Victoria and David buys new home in Hollywood

Victoria and David Beckham are the most stylish couple hands down.

According to Daily Mirror"
The Beckhams have bought their new home in Los Angeles - a £10 million, six-bed mansion in Beverly Hills that Victoria found on her house-hunting mission earlier this year. David, who will be playing football for LA Galaxy, has only seen the property on mobile phone pictures. Mrs B has flown to America to sign the contract and interview prospective staff. One source said, "her new NBC show starts in May so she needs a crack team to get everything perfect... They only went for six bedrooms and Victoria was anxious to create a modest, cosy family environment. They could easily have looked at some of the vulgar, sprawling 25 bedroom estates but neither wanted anything overly ostentatious

People Magazine 50 most Beautiful People........

Rihana and Eva without makeup

"The best thing about going without makeup is that it takes a lot less time to get ready," says the 19-year-old singer. "You don't have to worry about mascara spilling or eyeliner running or about touching up during the day. You can wash your face at any time. You feel comfortable and free."
Oprah, Beyonce, Alicia Keys and Halle were also on the list.

Random looks I like this week...

Reasons why Women would leave Men CONT......

Mr. Neglectful. “Once we got into the comfort zone of dating regularly, he started ignoring me and I couldn’t take it anymore,” says Sharon, 39, of Hartford, CT, of Lou, 42, her boyfriend of four months. “What started out as an exciting relationship turned into such a lonely affair. When we first met, he surprised me with calls during the day, funny emails, and nights out on the town. But little by little, he stopped doing all of that. He made excuses for not spending as much time with me. He either saw his friends alone several nights a week or wanted to, in his words, ‘chill out from the long work day.’ The funny thing is that I don’t think he was planning to break up with me. Even though I’d been telling him for a few weeks that I wasn’t happy with the lack of time and energy going into our relationship, he seemed surprised when I broke up with him. It’s like he wooed me and then once he got me, he didn’t want to make an effort anymore. Lack of connection seemed fine with him, but it didn’t work for me.”
Lesson learned: You don’t have to be with her 24/7, but do know that there’s the expectation by many women to see their guy once during the week and on the weekend—once they get into a dating groove, that is. If you can’t spend that much time with her, let her know you’re thinking of her with a quick email or text message now and then, or just a voicemail saying that you’re heading out to hockey practice with the guys but are thinking of how much fun it will be to see her on the weekend.

Mr. Independence. “What happens when you realize you’re dating someone who isn’t sure he wants to be dating?” asks New Yorker Diane, 32. “I met Tom through friends and really liked him… but as we began dating regularly — three or four times a week — I noticed that he kept joking about how he’d never marry until he was 50, how he was thinking of going on a guys-only vacation over the summer… it was as if he wanted me to know, don’t get too serious about this guy. He still treated me well, but I couldn’t ignore the signals he was so clearly sending about his priorities, and broke things off.”
Lesson learned: Not looking to get serious? Send those signals out from day one. Don’t start seeing someone and then back-pedal like crazy. It’s much better to find someone who’s also looking for something casual, too.

Psalm 71

1 In you, O LORD, I have taken refuge; let me never be put to shame.
2 Rescue me and deliver me in your righteousness; turn your ear to me and save me.
3 Be my rock of refuge, to which I can always go; give the command to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.
4 Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of evil and cruel men.
5 For you have been my hope, O Sovereign LORD, my confidence since my youth.
6 From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother's womb. I will ever praise you.
7 I have become like a portent to many, but you are my strong refuge.
8 My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long.
9 Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone.
10 For my enemies speak against me; those who wait to kill me conspire together.
11 They say, "God has forsaken him; pursue him and seize him, for no one will rescue him."
12 Be not far from me, O God; come quickly, O my God, to help me.
13 May my accusers perish in shame; may those who want to harm me be covered with scorn and disgrace.
14 But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more.
15 My mouth will tell of your righteousness, of your salvation all day long, though I know not its measure.
16 I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, O Sovereign LORD; I will proclaim your righteousness, yours alone.
17 Since my youth, O God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.
18 Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come.
19 Your righteousness reaches to the skies, O God, you who have done great things. Who, O God, is like you?
20 Though you have made me see troubles, many and bitter, you will restore my life again; from the depths of the earth you will again bring me up.
21 You will increase my honor and comfort me once again.
22 I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praise to you with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.
23 My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you— I, whom you have redeemed.
24 My tongue will tell of your righteous acts all day long, for those who wanted to harm me have been put to shame and confusion.
I hope the weekend has been fab.

Please help me to understand, please.................

Hi guys, I am a passionate person. I like people in general and the ones I love and call loved ones and care about, I really do care and am protective of them.

I am almost always brought to tears every time I see poverty in Africa on TV. I watched America Idols, 'Idol gives back' last night and I am still surprised, hurt and broken everytime I see poverty in Africa. I have seen this stuff first hand, I am African, but fortunate one. I am still blown away man. I am hurt by it, I am kinda helpless and it hurts. I gave back and have been working with an Orphanage for about 8 yrs now in Liberia. I have done other work with other the less fortunate cases, but it is not enough, for I don't have a lot to give.

We all can give back in our simpliest ways and make a big difference in our community and Africa, but we don't. We could start with one person, pay an unfortunate child's school fees, Help a sick people in need of Malaria (# 1 killer in all of Africa) treatment at your local clinics. There is always someone almost at death due to no money for treatment. Do this a few times a year, buy Mosquito nets, you will be surprised how much this will do. And the thing is that they are cheap ass treatments too. I am going to do something about this in my own way I will try, in God I will. You too guys can, it will make you a better person inside and out.

Ok, I am mad and have vented, So the question is:

What will you do if your best friend, your sister or brother was about to date someone you have reservations/concerns about? Would you tell them your concerns before they start dating or wait until things goes wrong before you say what your reservations/concerns are?

Thanks Guys.

I got this email today and my sister wanted me to post for with you guys. Tell me what you think and please share it with others? Thanks.
Racism is one thing I find strange, 'who do people think they are over others?'

NUD You hear about this? Tom Joyner wants this information to reach his listeners.. You have probably heard of "NUD" as a result of the Tom Joyner morning show related to Comp USA . NUD (Non Urban Dictate) is the acronym for a very subtle and little-known marketing term specifically directed toward people of color. "Non Urban Dictate" These three words essentially mean that a company is not interested in the Black consumer. A NUD label means that a company does not want their marketing and advertising materials placed in media that claim an urban audience (black folks) as their main target.

There are legitimate reasons for companies not using urban radio. It may be that Blacks don't index high in certain categories or that a company's strategy is to market to the Black consumer down the road after they have established a strong position in their primary target. But, NUD usually means that a company is not interested in the Black consumer. Companies evade discrimination liability by embracing it as theory rather than policy. As a service to Black consumers, the Urban Institute will list all companies that have a NUD policy. Armed with this information, we feel that Black consumers will be able to make informed buying decisions.
Here's a list of Companies with NUD policies:

1. Starbucks 2. Jos. A Bank 3. Comp USA
4. Weight Watchers 5. Keebler 6. Life Savers
7. Continental Airlines 8. Northwest Airlines
9. America West Airlines 10. HBO - Apollo Series
11. Paternal Importers 12. Ca lico Corners 13. OMScot
14. Pepperidge Farms 15. Ethan Allen
16. Busy Body Fitness 17. Mondavi Wines
18. Builders Square 19. Don Pablo 20. Lexus
21. Aruba Tourism 22. Ciba Vision 23. Kindercare
24. Grady Restaurant 25. Eddie ! Bauer

Please forward this information on to any other consumer that you consider a friend and advise them to do likewise Remember, you CANNOT act wisely unless you are informed wisely.

Men- Really are from Mars....... lol

Read the insert in the pic below, funny.

I had to share this with you guys, it is so funny. Granted I just posted reasons why we dump men a few minutes earlier, my girlfriend emailed this. LOL

Reasons why Women would leave Men…

1. Mr. Bad Manners. “While eating spaghetti, he practically buried his face in the bowl and slurped the noodles, then tried to talk to me with noodles dangling from his mouth,” says Jenny, 29, of Washington, D.C., who dated Todd, 32, for three months. “I wish I had seen his bad manners earlier,” says Jenny. “What I learned is that people can stay on their best behavior for a few weeks, or even months, but eventually, the truth comes out. I guess that Todd was on his best behavior the first month or so. He didn’t show such poor table manners at first. But after asking him repeatedly and politely to stop chewing with his mouth open, I finally gave up. He wouldn’t listen to me and was very defensive about the whole subject. I learned one thing about myself. Bad table manners are my deal-breaker.”
Lesson to learn: Stay on your best manners—until they become your everyday manners.
2. Mr. Cheapo. “Barry, the man I was seeing for five months, is cute, but I hate that he’s cheap,” says Linda, 37, of Norfolk, VA. “He’s my age and makes a good living as a lawyer. So he has no excuse, really. Cheapness is the kiss of death for me. I hate when a man you’re seeing turns into an accountant at the end of a meal or event. Barry would turn to me and say, ‘And your half comes to…,’ until it finally drove me crazy. The final straw was when, on my birthday, he gave me a tacky “re-gift” out of his closet. To top it off, he never wanted to spend money going to plays or cultural events. I’m not saying a guy needs to spend a mint on me, but I believe money should be used in moderation to create great shared experiences and convey affection. It wasn’t about the money as much as it was his attitude.”
Lesson to learn: Be open to spending some money on shared experiences that bond the two of you and create great memories. Also know that there are plenty of women out there who expect a guy to pay until the relationship is rock-solid (not saying it’s fair, just that’s the way it is).

3. Mr. Zero Ambition. “We had fun at first,” says Stacy, 35, of Pasadena, CA, about her short-term boyfriend Allan, 36. “But I had to leave him after six months. Yes, he was a nice guy. It just didn't feel right with him because he has no future ambition, like getting married or wanting to have a stable career. He works at a video store, which would have been fine, but he just doesn’t seem to care about what he does or have any plan for his life (hey, he usually didn’t even have a plan for the weekend!). Eventually, I want to buy a home and fix it up with my husband. I also want to have kids, which costs a lot of money these days, so I need a guy who cares at least a little about finances. I enjoyed his company for the months we were together, but his passive approach to just watching his life go by got to me. It got boring to be with a guy who never wanted to do anything but watch TV.”

Lesson learned: Think about where you want to be in 5 or 10 years, and take steps to go after it. Take a small risk, show some initiative. And if your job doesn’t thrill you, try sharing something else that you are passionate about — Mexican food, kayaking, whatever — with your date so she can learn from you and feel a deeper connection and an excitement about being with you.

Liya, Liya, Beauty, Beauty

I love Liya Kebede, one of my most beautiful people I see today.
This international Model/beauty was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
While in school at the French Lycee, a film director spotted the young beauty and introduced her to a French modeling agent. After completing her studies, she moved to France to pursue work through a local Parisian agency. Liya inevitably relocated to the fashion capital of New York City, where she currently resides full-time.
She works with the World Health Organization as their Goodwill Ambassador for her tireless efforts in raising awareness for the difficulties that women and children face in the developing world.

Liya has been on the cover of Vogue and Elle mags amongst others. She is a face for Estee Lauder, Gap and Escada last few seasonal campaigns, she has worked and is working for a lot of the best fashion designer in the world. I think she is just awesome.

JLO gets paid seriously...........

A RUSSIAN billionaire has spent $2.4 million on a treat for his wife's birthday party this weekend - a private concert by Jennifer Lopez.

Andrei Melnichenko, 35, is paying $1,440,000 for the performance plus a further $960,000 to fly the singer's entourage in from the US for the party in Berkshire and put them up in top London hotels.
Lopez, who happens to bear a striking resemblance to Mr Melnichenko's wife Aleksandra, will sing just a handful of numbers in a show lasting less than 40 minutes

Despite rumours of there being a long list of celebrities attending, the guests will include mainly Russian and Serbian tycoons.
But a source close to Lopez said: "It will be wall-to-wall billionaires in there.
"Andrei and Aleksandra are both very great fans of J-Lo, so Andrei put the call in and personally put the offer to her. She accepted immediately.
The couple hired Christina Aguilera to sing at their 2005 wedding in the south of France for $4.8 million last year.

10 Commandments of Flattering Fashion

The 10 Commandments of Flattering Fashion
By Elizabeth Blackwell

Color and Fit

1. Keep It Monochromatic: If you're wearing the same color from shoulders to feet, it creates the illusion of one, long, unbroken line. That makes you look slimmer and minimizes individual features. Think neutrals: black, camel, cream, dark brown.
2. Just My Size: Anything too big (baggy T-shirts) or too small (tiny tank tops) will make you look larger than you are. You won't fool anyone by cramming yourself into a smaller size or hiding under loose fabric. Buy clothing that actually fits your body.
3. Skim, Not Skin: The fabric of your clothes should skim your curves, but not become a second skin. Stiff fabrics will create lumps and bumps; super-sheer fabrics can highlight a little too much. Look for fabric that drapes and falls in a flattering way.
4. The Perfect Pants: For the most universally flattering style, look for a flat front (gathered waists only make your stomach look fatter), low waist (about an inch or so below your navel -- not hip-huggers) and a slight flare at the bottom (to balance out the width of your hips).
5. The Perfect Skirt: An A-line skirt looks good on everyone, and offers especially good camouflage for big bottoms and pudgy tummies. Keep it knee-length to make your legs look their best.
Tops, Suits, and More
6. The Perfect Top: V-neck tops and long-sleeved turtlenecks are flattering on almost everyone, because they have vertical lines, which draw the eye up. That makes your torso look longer and leaner
7. The Perfect Suit: Choose a jacket with small pads to define your shoulders (without making you look like a linebacker), a waist that's slightly tapered to give you a womanly curve (a belt works well, too), and pants that are fitted in the hips and flare slightly at the bottom.
8. Smooth Foundations: Obvious underwear lines will sabotage your smooth, clean line. Wear silky bras that won't make shirts cling. Choose thin, seamless panties that won't be noticeable under pants.
9. Size Matters: Make sure accessories balance with your overall look. A too-tiny bag or oversized earrings can throw everything off. Your purse, jewelry, and shoes should blend with the color and texture of your outfit (and be in proportion to your body size).
10. Seek Professional Help: When it comes to high-quality wardrobe staples, like a great jacket or classic black wool pants, a good tailor is crucial. Have the clothing altered to fit your body perfectly, and you'll wear those pieces for years.
